Review: L'Oreal Studio Secrets Smoothing Resurfacing Primer

Product:

Smoothing Resurfacing Primer

Brand:

L'Oreal Studio Secrets

Price:

£12.99- but currently on offer for £9.99 in Boots

What does it claim to do?

"L'Oréal Paris Studio Secrets Smoothing Resurfacing Primer is inspired by professional make-up artists, this primer masks wrinkles and uneven textures in the skin, making the complexion feel smooth and soft, with a remarkable velvety touch." - L'Oreal Paris website

What do I think?

I have mentioned this product in quite a few posts recently. To put it simply- I am totally, 100% in love with this primer. It's probably worth mentioning that I don't usually use a primer- I've never felt it necessary.

However- after reading a few good blog reviews and trying a sample which came with Elle, I decided to buy it.

My favourite thing about the product is how soft and smooth it makes your skin- it really really does make it feel like velvet and the feeling lasts throughout the day. I've also been using the Nivea tinted moisturiser instead of foundation and I find that once this primer has been applied, the tinted moisturiser just glides onto my skin and blends perfectly. It really is a great base for make-up.

In terms of applying the product, you have to moisturise your skin first and then apply a small amount in circular motions. You do not need to use a lot which is good because the pot is not huge.

Since wearing it, I've had comments from friends about how clear and good my skin is looking (I always love these compliments because I've suffered from problem skin in the past) and the boy has also noticed- and he rarely notices such make-up technicalities!

Can you tell I adore this primer?! This has now become a daily part of my make-up routine which to me is the ultimate sign of product approval!

Would I re-purchase?

Again, and again, and again!

What are everyone elses thoughts on this primer?

  8. Is it good even if you want to cover those horrible occasional breakouts, and maybe some redness? Or that's what the green one is for?

  9. @Lyd- it's not so much of a cover-up as a base for foundation and concealer- as you said, I think that's what the other products in the collection are for. I use this and then use concealer before applying my tinted moisturiser. It just gives my skin a really smooth finish xx

  11. Ah, I use this too. I love it! It makes your skin feel so silky. Even my male colleagues commented on how nice my skin looked when I wore it, and I don't think they'd notice if I came in with a different nose on my face! xx

  15. I got the sample too and was amazed at how soft it makes your skin! Will definately need to buy it... and you said you use a moisturiser first, just wondering which you use?

  16. @Hannah- to be honest, it says you should moisturise before-hand but I don't always do that! I change my moisturiser regularly but I'm currently using the Garnier Pure Active one :)
